The Chester County Health Department has a community
service project that could use the help of an Eagle Scout or interested pack/troop/crew. The project
will require working at the Youth Center in Pocopson. The hope is to create a garden, with benches
and a shaded area of some sort (gazebo), in the back corner of the Center where the girls from the
shelter "hang out". These girls have been abused and are living at the facility while their lives
are in transition. It would be nice to have a flower and/or vegetable garden for them and to create
a pleasant outdoor space where they could sit and enjoy the fresh air. Currently, the area is empty
so any idea would be welcome. The Chester County Health Department is working with Community Gardens
of Chester County on this project, but any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
